Only 49 of the 90 prop firms we track currently accept traders from Vietnam. The5ers heads that shorter list with a country score of 4.3/5. On the payment side, 1 firm takes VietQR for the fee. Nearly half the market is closed to you, which changes the order in which you should do things.
Check the door before the price
Picture the usual evening: three tabs of rule pages open in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, a favorite challenge picked out, and then a country dropdown at checkout that does not list Vietnam. It happens often, because Vietnam appears on the restriction lists of almost half the firms we follow. 41 firms restrict it, including FundedNext, FundingPips and Lucid Trading, so familiar names can drop out at the last step.
So start from the eligible list, not from a brand you have heard of. Within it, our ranking for Vietnam puts The5ers first, The5ers Futures second and E8 Perpetuals third. Of the accepting firms, 33 run forex or CFD challenges, 11 run futures and 12 cover crypto; a firm can sit in more than one group. If futures are your market, note that about 25% of futures challenges bill monthly rather than once, so a slow pass keeps costing you.
Crypto on the way in and on the way out
Paying for a challenge is less of a puzzle than choosing one. 44 accepting firms take cards, 43 take crypto and 30 take e-wallets. Whatever you use, compare prices in US dollars, since that is how every firm quotes them.
The more important question is how profit comes back. 39 firms pay out in crypto, 29 by bank transfer and 22 through Rise, and 26 offer payouts weekly or faster. Before buying, decide which of those you can receive without friction and test it with a small transfer. A payout method you have never used is a poor surprise to meet on the day your first profit split lands.
What a challenge costs
Among the firms open to you, a one-time forex challenge, pass fees included, runs $105 for $10K, $349 for $50K and $579 for $100K. FundedHive has the lowest entry ticket at $9. Divide any price by account size in $10K steps and compare that figure, not the sticker. Then look for costs that appear later: about 7% of challenges charge an activation fee after you pass. If you want to skip the test altogether, 28 accepting firms sell instant funding, typically at a higher price for the same size.
Fitting the rules to your evening
Vietnam runs on UTC+7 with no clock changes. The London open reaches you at around 14:00 during the European summer and 15:00 in winter; New York stocks open at about 20:30 or 21:30. The richest hours of the day, when both centers are active, therefore land in your evening, and the US close arrives well after midnight.
That timetable should shape the rules you pick. A trailing drawdown that follows your equity peak can punish a trader who gives back profit late in a long session, so the 38 accepting firms with static-drawdown accounts deserve a look. Daily loss limits reset each day at the firm's server time, which may not match your own midnight; only about 10% of challenges have none. 42 firms allow news trading, relevant when US data prints during your evening, and 35 permit expert advisors if you automate. On platforms, the most common among eligible firms are MT5 (30 firms), cTrader (15 firms) and Match Trader (13 firms).
Before you pay
The evaluation itself is simulated, with no order of yours reaching a real market, and any payout comes from the firm under its own terms. Tax treatment of that income follows Vietnamese rules and your personal circumstances, and we are not tax advisers, so check with a local professional. With those caveats understood, a short eligible list is not a disadvantage in itself; it simply means your research should begin where the checkout ends.
