84 of the 90 prop firms we track accept Australian residents. FundingPips ranks first for Australia at 4.3/5. A median $10K forex challenge runs $99, close to 141 AUD at 1.4277 AUD per US dollar. The harder question is not where you can buy but when you will trade, because from Sydney the busiest hours of the market arrive after dark.
Trading the night shift
London opens at roughly 17:00 to 19:00 in Sydney, depending on where both countries sit in their daylight-saving cycles, and the New York stock open lands somewhere between about 23:30 and 01:30. The Asian session, by contrast, runs through your working day. Picture the evaluation in practice: a daily loss limit that resets once a day, and a trade you placed at dinner still open when you want to sleep. Choose a firm whose rules suit the hours you can actually be at the screen. Programs that drop the daily loss limit altogether are 9% of the field, so for nearly every account you should decide in advance how much of the day's allowance you are willing to spend before the US open. If you plan to leave positions running overnight, look for a static drawdown (57 firms use one) rather than a trailing limit that climbs with every new equity high. Automation is permitted at 59 firms, and 76 let you trade around news releases.
Your shortlist and what it costs
The firms that restrict Australia number 6, among them Blueberry Funded, Hantec Trader and ThinkCapital. Among the rest, 50 offer forex programs, 29 futures and 14 crypto, and the platform leaderboard reads MT5 (46 firms), Match Trader (28 firms) and cTrader (26 firms). Our ranking puts FundedNext and The5ers directly behind FundingPips.
Including pass fees, the median one-time prices run $99 at $10K, $339 at $50K (about 484 AUD) and $569 at $100K (about 812 AUD). The lowest price we record is FundedHive at $9, but comparing cost per $10K of buying power gives a truer picture, and 7% of forex challenges charge again to activate the account after a pass. Futures buyers face another wrinkle: 24% of futures programs bill monthly rather than once. Prefer no test at all? Instant funding is on sale at 56 firms.
Paying in and getting paid
Cards work at 80 firms and crypto at 73; 55 add e-wallets, and no firm here takes a method specific to Australia for the fee. For withdrawals, 63 firms offer crypto, 50 offer Rise and 42 a bank wire; 52 pay weekly or faster. Before you buy, check that a firm pays out through a method you already use, so your first withdrawal does not turn into a paperwork exercise.
Remember what the fee buys: a simulated evaluation, not an investment account. Tax on prop payouts follows Australian rules, and since we are not tax advisers, a qualified accountant is the right person to ask.
