Free Funded Accounts: The Honest Answer (2026)

None of the 90 prop firms we follow gives away a funded account. The one route with no fee is Axi Select: you trade your own live account, from $500 of equity, and get an allocation on top. Of the 56 firms selling accounts at $50 or less, 31 list fee refunds, starting with FXIFY at $19 for $2.5K.

Search for a free funded account and you find four things: demo trials, contests that award a funded account to winners, paid challenges whose fee comes back with your first payout, and broker programmes that fund you on top of your own live account. Each one still needs you to pay, to win or to put your own money at risk.

If you want the lowest honest price, look at small or pay-after-pass challenges. This page shows every account at $50 or less upfront.

Questions and answers

Do any prop firms hand out free funded accounts?

Not for nothing. Axi Select charges no fee, but it only funds traders who keep their own live account at $500 or more, and that money is at risk. Trials are demo-only and contests pay only their winners.

How does Axi Select work?

Your own live account is the evaluation. The allocation grows in stages, from $5K at $500 of equity to $1M at $20,000, and the profit share rises from 0% to 80%.

Which prop firms refund the challenge fee?

Fee refunds appear in the terms of 31 firms here (of 56), and 40 list free resets or retakes. A refund only arrives after you pass and get paid, so it lowers the cost of success, not of failure.

Can I get a $10K funded account free?

Not as a challenge. The cheapest $10K account from a firm without warnings is $29 at Leveraged.

Is a free trial the same as a funded account?

No. A trial is a demo with the firm's rules switched on. It costs nothing and pays nothing, so use it to learn the platform before you buy.
