No prop firm in our data sells a funded account for $1. The smallest payment that opens a challenge is a $2.50 deposit at QT Funded ($5K), and $65 more falls due once you pass. Paid outright, the cheapest is Hantec Trader: $2K for $13. In total, 20 firms sell 101 accounts at $20 or less upfront.

Behind most "$1 funded account" ads sits one of two things: a promotional price on a very small account, or a plan where a few dollars open the challenge and the real fee comes due when you pass.

Below is every account whose upfront list price is $20 or less, with the after-pass fee shown beside it. 75 of the 101 are pay-after-pass.

Method: Only accounts priced at $20 or less before any pass fee. Firms are sorted by their cheapest qualifying account, and no promo codes are applied. No firm with an open warning makes the picks. We quote official list prices with no promo codes and add any fee you pay after passing.

The real price of a sub-$20 challenge

Find the second price. With pay-after-pass, what you pay today is a deposit. The full fee, often a few hundred dollars, arrives with your pass, and we print both figures in the tables.

Small accounts pay small. A $2K to $5K account is a cheap way to learn a firm's rules, but a 5% target on it is worth very little in dollars.
